National Association for the Education of Young Children Awards Rubidoux Child Development Center for Having met the NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards

We warmly welcome you to join us in a celebration of achievement in attaining this nationally recognized award for improving the standard of care and education at our Rubidoux Child Development Center. Our staff, community associates, and families together have worked diligently to meet the stringent criteria required by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and we would love to invite you to celebrate our collective success.

The NAEYC Accreditation process is an extensive self-study that measures the program and its services against the ten NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and more than 400 related criteria that have been vetted and updated by nationally recognized professional early childhood educators and advocates over the past 35 years. The NAEYC program has become widely recognized in the United States by early childhood educational organizations and professionals as a sign of high-quality care and education, meeting the highest standards available in our field that not only reflects the latest research, but also the best practices in child development and education.

Our success would have been unfeasible without the extensive support we have received from parents and families in our program attending our meetings and filling out our surveys. Our community partners like the Rubidoux Library and La Sierra University, the Rubidoux Community Resource Center;  that came to our classroom to read to the children and share valuable resources with our staff, and our administrative and consulting staff at our corporate office who ensured we had the necessary materials and trainings to achieve success. Moreover, the time and work put in by our dedicated teaching staff and associates over countless months have been incalculable. Our teaching staff and associates have gone above and beyond expectations to create a high-quality learning environment at our center. This is why we would like to come together as a community to celebrate this momentous time with you as we continue to raise and improve the quality of care and education to the highest degree for the children of our community on Thursday June 2nd 2016 from 10:00am to 12:00 p.m.

Hemlock Child Development Center Earns National NAEYC Accreditation

MORENO VALLEY, CAFSA Hemlock Child Development Center located in Moreno Valley has earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) – the nation’s leading organization of early childhood professionals.

A celebration of success is planned for Friday, April 22nd from 9 to 11a.m., with a ceremony followed by a tour of the facilities. Please call (951) 779-9623 to RSVP by Wednesday, April 20th.

“We’re proud to have earned the mark of quality from NAEYC, and to be recognized for our commitment to reaching the highest professional standards,” said Davina Bailey, Center Director. “NAEYC Accreditation lets families in our community know that children in our high-quality program have teachers who create engaging classrooms, enhance relationships with their parents and families, and develop rich experiences for their students.”

To earn NAEYC Accreditation, Hemlock Child Development Center went through an extensive self-study process, measuring the program and its services against the ten NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and more than 400 related Accreditation Criteria. The program received NAEYC Accreditation after an on-site visit by NAEYC Assessors to ensure that the program meets each of the ten program standards. NAEYC-accredited programs are also subject to unannounced visits during their accreditation, which lasts for five years.

In the 25 years since NAEYC Accreditation was established, it has become a widely recognized sign of high-quality early childhood education. Nearly 7,000 programs are currently accredited by NAEYC – approximately 8 percent of all preschools and other early childhood programs.

“It’s a lengthy and rigorous process to achieve NAEYC Accreditation, and Hemlock Child Development Center should be commended for seeking high standards,” said Rhian Evans Allvin, executive director of NAEYC. “Caring for children is not ‘rocket science’ – it’s brain science. Studies prove that the brain connections made in the first few years of life set a child’s path for success in school and in life. That’s why quality educators are so crucial. For parents and caregivers of young children who are searching for a high-quality early learning experience, Hemlock Child Development Center’s NAEYC Accreditation is a sign that it offers a high-quality education in a nurturing and stimulating environment.”

The NAEYC Accreditation system has set voluntary professional standards for programs for young children since 1985. In September 2006, the Association revised program standards and criteria to introduce a new level of quality, accountability, and service for parents and children in child care programs. The new standards today reflect the latest research and best practices in early childhood education and development. NAEYC is committed to using the newest studies and analysis on positive child outcomes to ensure young children continue receiving the highest-quality care and education possible.

The NAEYC Accreditation system was created to set professional standards for early childhood education, and to help families identify high-quality preschools, child care centers, and other early education programs. To earn NAEYC Accreditation, a program must meet each of the ten NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards. Programs are accredited by NAEYC for a five-year period.
