Moreno Valley, CA - Family Service Association (FSA) CEO, Dom Betro, has announced his retirement from FSA, effective June 30, 2018. Dom started his career at FSA on Sept, 3, 1985. During his tenure FSA has grown to become one of the leading Non Profit Human Service organizations in the Inland Empire. Annually FSA serves over 80,000 family members, at 52 locations throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The 25 million dollars per year in services rendered by 450 employees and 2000 volunteers include: Child Care Centers, Community and Senior Centers, Counseling Offices, Senior Congregate and Homebound Meals, Child Abuse Prevention, Affordable Housing Apartments, and Innovative Social Enterprises such as Mobile Fresh (providing access to fresh fruit and vegetables, healthy eating alternatives and diabetes prevention)

The FSA Board of Directors will be conducting a National Search for a new FSA CEO. They plan to have someone selected by April 2018, transitioning the position during May and June, and the new CEO in place by July 1, 2018

Dom Betro comment:
“I want to thank the FSA Board of Directors, staff and volunteers, my FSA family, for the support, commitment and competence they have contributed over the past 33 years that I have been FSA CEO. It has been extremely rewarding to come to work every day, with an anticipation of new and exciting adventures to be pursued in our mission to build family and community strength. It has been the highlight of my career to work with the dedicated FSA Board and Staff Members, and to serve many individuals and family members over all these years. I retire at a time when FSA is in a great place programmatically, financially and with great board and staff leaders. It is also the right time for me and my family, as I hope to enjoy my grandchildren, travel, and continue my university teaching and consultation activities in furthering the nonprofit sector management, leadership and social entrepreneurship capacities.”

Jane Adams, FSA Board Chair comments:
“It is with mixed feelings that the Board of Directors accepts Mr. Betro’s retirement.  We congratulate him on a very successful career and wish him a long, healthy and happy retirement.  On the other hand, we will miss his innovative and creative leadership of the Family Service Association.  It is due to his leadership, wise choice of staff and his prescient ability to anticipate social needs that Family Service Association has become the great social service agency that it is.  We will miss Dom greatly but we know that he leaves the agency in a great position to meet the social service needs of the Inland Empire well in to the future.”
