The programs and services operated by FSA are made possible with more than 700 volunteers. These individuals donate thousands of hours each year impacting lives and truly making a difference!
Our volunteer’s special skills, talents and loyalty are greatly appreciated and enable us to provide quality services to thousands of residents throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Thank you to those of you who serve…with a willing spirit and open heart!
Becoming a volunteer with Family Service Association has many benefits; you help the community, you can obtain valuable work experience, explore new careers, meet new friends, obtain references for college or jobs, recognition and awards, and you make a difference in someone’s life.
How to apply for a volunteer position:
We welcome you to become a member of our volunteer team! Start with our current volunteer opportunities list. If you find a position that you are interested in, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator stating your interest in volunteering, how much time you have available and if you have other interests and skills that could benefit other FSA programs.
We also welcome community/corporate groups that would like to get involved on either short-term or long-term projects.

Current Volunteer Opportunities
Admin Office: Moreno Valley
- Clerical: Filing, Tabulation of stats, stuffing envelopes, mail merges
- Facilities – Maintenance workers, Janitor
Senior Nutrition:Through out Riverside and San Bernardino Counties
- Drivers- deliver meals to seniors (need background check, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.
- Senior Nutrition Case Worker – Evaluate and Assess senior Nutrition, home-bound clients. Need background check, valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, TB test.
- Kitchen helpers- hands out food, prepares food plates, collects money, counts money, signs seniors in for lunch, etc Need: TB test and Food handlers card.
- *Data entry clerk – enter data for senior nutrition at Box Springs – Need: Background check.
- Graphic Designer – good design skills to complete fliers, Monday through Friday 9am- 5pm.
Catering for a Cause – Riverside
- Cooks – Need: Food Handler’s card
- Servers for Special Events- Need: Food Handler’s card
Adult Day Care – Hemet
- Activity Assistant – Help guide clients in activities, lots of conversation, help needed from 9a-4p but especially during the lunch hour. No lifting required, will receive training! Must be 18 or older.
Mead Valley Community Center – Mead Valley (Perris)
- After school program help- must love working with kids, help with homework, supervise outdoor activities. Monday through Thursday 2:30-4:30pm.
- Mentoring Program – young adults are needed to mentor youth at risk. Volunteers need to commit a minimum of one year to program to instill trust and dependability for youth at risk. Must be genuinely interested in helping misguided youth.
Highgrove Community Center – Riverside
- Homework Help Volunteer – hours = 2pm to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.
- Special events help – weekend and special events
Child Development Centers – Through out Riverside County
- Classroom Aides – Need: to be 18yrs or older, Background check and TB test clearance required.
Special Event Volunteers – Throughout Riverside County
- Volunteer opportunities are on an as-needed basis. Volunteer will be placed on an email distribution list and whenever there is a special event, volunteers are contacted. Special events can include: Decorating for special event, serving at catering opportunities, help prepare for large mailings, run a booth at a special event, work at a 5k Fun Run, and much more!
